Share Your World 2014 – Week 19

Do you prefer shopping or going to a park?

I enjoy going to the park with my family. So yeah, I prefer going to a park instead of shopping. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping like most women do but I don’t shop as often as I used to anymore.

What is the highest score you’ve ever made in bowling?  Actual or virtually played.

None. Bowling is not my thing, no offense meant.

Name the foreign countries you’ve been to.

Kuwait and India.

Describe your own outlook on life in seven words or less.

When life gets tough, it’s hard to stay positive but when I remind myself of how God has been good to me all my life, I become thankful instead of being negative. In seven words, ‘count your blessings instead of your crosses’.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful for the ff:

  • Addy turned 10 month old.
  • Hubby gave me a very nice gift.
  • A neighbor/friend who treated me like her own daughter. (She introduced me to a friend as such and I really appreciate that.)

Looking forward to:

  • Weekend family time.

Share Your World 2014 – Week 15

For your blog do you basically use Windows or Mac, laptop, desktop, pad, or phone?

Laptop.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I remember that I used to say “I wanted to become a doctor someday” when I was a kid. It was what I was told to say and what I should be wanting to become. Hence, I didn’t actually become one. No one’s fault, it’s just not meant to be.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

Small town. No, I didn’t like it when I was young not because it was small but because my mother and siblings were residing in another town. Naturally, I wanted to stay with them. I am and will always be grateful to my grandma who raised me but I used to long for my immediate family. Hence, I grew up lonely and angry because I thought my mother abandoned me. I am okay now. My mother, siblings and I are close though we live far from each other. And my small hometown? I miss it from time to time.

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I feel old these days because bending is not as easy as it used to be.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I met and spend time with a friend whom I haven’t seen for a while…I’m looking forward to our family outing this weekend.

Share Your World 2014 – Week 10

Describe yourself in a word that starts with the first letter of your name.

Mommy. I wish I can say that I am a magnificent mommy but only my kids can say that. I hope they will. Someday.

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

Maybe 10%? I’m aware that other people my age are leading a more satisfying life than mine but I don’t want to think about that because I might feel envious. I would rather count the things that I have than the things that I do not have.

If you were a tree, would you become a book or furniture? Please describe.

A pretty and sturdy bed frame.

You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?

I thought of hubby first but no, if I am not with our kids then he should be with them. I think I would want to be trapped with any one of my sisters. We can chat, we can sing, we can dance and we can even fight while waiting for the elevator to be fixed.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for the nice time we had during our outing last Saturday. Looking forward to our next outing.

Part of what we saw during our outing

Penguins.. one among the animals we saw at the Scientific Center

We saw variety of fishes too

Would you prefer a reading nook or an art, craft, photography studio?

I would love to have a reading nook not just for me but also for my kids. It’s not possible to have it right now but hopefully someday.

Would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?

I would love to have it in a separate room where my family can hang out and watch news or documentaries or movies together. I also prefer a huge TV.

What color would you like your bedroom to be?

Any light shades of blue or green.

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

I would prefer a multiple levels because I want our bedrooms to be in the upper level of the house. The space in the ground floor will be allotted for the living room, kitchen, and guest room with bathroom. Just so you know, I’m daydreaming right now.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that the rashes on Addy’s face are almost all gone. I’m grateful that Abby is not aloof with other kids anymore. Also, I’m grateful for the nice weather.

I am looking forward to a continuous nice weather so that we’ll have more fun outdoor but I know summer will come soon whether I like it or not.

Share Your World 2014 – Week 4

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?

Having two boisterous babies, I would love to spend some quiet time alone to recharge my energy.

What is the most number of blankets you’ve ever had on your bed?

Two. One, I use as a bed sheet (woolen blanket) to keep my back warm and the other one (comforter) as a blanket.

You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met. Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?

Maybe yes. I am not a party goer but if I get an invitation to such party, I think I should not decline it. I should attend and meet or at least observe those fascinating people from a close distance without their notice. If they talk to me, I will try to act cool and pretend that I am not nervous at all.

Do you like talking to people on the phone? Or do you prefer voice mail or email?

I prefer talking to people on the phone not that I like it but because it is less time-consuming. I get to hear the response immediately whether it’s good or bad then I can move on to my next to do list. If the person I’m calling is not answering my call then that’s the time for me to send an email.

Share Your World 2014 – Week 2

If you had to move to a country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?

I know that we will leave from here eventually but I don’t know yet where we are going to next. It would be nice if we can move back home – Philippines but I don’t think my hubby will agree. He would want us to move back to his home country too. Oh well, where ever is fine with me as long as the kids, hubby and I are together.

Music or silence while working?

I am a stay at home mom but it doesn’t mean I am not doing anything. Actually, my work now is more tiring than before but at least I can play music whenever I want which is all day long most of the time and sometimes even all night long (usually by Maranatha singers and in low volume).

What is your favorite color?

Blue and pink.

Do you have a bucket list? What are your three items? A bucket list are things you want to do before you die.

I don’t have a bucket list but I really want to tour around the world someday and the top three countries that I want to visit are Italy, France and South Korea.

Share Your World 2014 – Week 1

What are some of your favorite type of proteins to eat? (meat, eggs, soy, cheese, nuts)

Eggs and meat especially chicken. Most of my friends get allergy reaction to chicken meat if they eat it consecutively but I don’t or should I say ‘haven’t so far?’ but it doesn’t matter, I just like chicken meat among all the other meats. I used to like pork more but I got used to not eating it anymore.

Are you a morning or night person?

I’m a morning person. Even if I didn’t get a good night sleep, morning time is still the best time for me. It is the time when I am more productive, more energetic and happier too.

What is your preferred hot drink: coffee, tea, water or other?

I prefer chocolate but right now for my baby’s sake, I drink hot milk every morning and sometimes even in the afternoon.

Out of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing) which is your favorite?

It’s not easy to choose since I need them all while caring for my kids and my home but I think I need the sense of sight the most. I don’t think I can last a day (while doing all the house work) without seeing my baby’s faces and sweet smiles.

Share You World 2013 – Week 47

How do you like to spend a rainy day?

It rarely rains here in Kuwait but when it does, I always watch the rain from our window and make sure that Abby sees it as well then we sing the famous ‘rain, rain go away’ song. Usually, the rain doesn’t last long

What is the weirdest or strangest thing you saw or heard or did this week?

This thing happens everyday but I can’t remember when it started. Abby doesn’t drink directly from her glass, she uses a spoon. I didn’t teach her to do this and as much as I don’t want to give her a spoon after giving her a glass of water or juice, she will make a fuss if I don’t so I have no choice but to give it to her. I’m sure she will outgrow this habit eventually.

What item, that you don’t have already, would you most like to own?

I wish to have a DSLR camera.

How many times you have moved in the last ten years?

Just once.

Share Your World 2013 – Week 45

What was the most important event in your life last week?

Addy’s 5th month birthday.  Also, last week we (Abby, hubby, and I) all felt better as compared to the week before when we all got sick due to cough and colds. Thankfully, Addy didn’t get sick.

Who was your favorite singer or music group in high school?

I used to like the songs ‘Love Will Keep Us Alive’ by Eagles and ‘Bed of Roses’ by Bon Jovi.  I don’t know their other songs so I can’t really say that they were my favorite singers/band but I liked those particular songs at that time.

Name the foreign countries you’ve been to.

Kuwait and India.

Does your first or middle name have any significance (or were you named after another family member)?

None, I think. Perhaps I should ask my mother if there’s any significance to it just to be sure.

Pile of gorgeous gifts

Pile of gorgeous gifts (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Do you prefer to receive gifts or give them?

I love to give gifts and I would love to receive them as well.  However, if I really have to choose between the two then I would rather be the one to give than to receive gifts. I feel good when I give gifts. It’s not that I am being proud but the joy of seeing the happy faces of my family and friends or anyone whom I gave the gifts is priceless and satisfying.

If you could be given any gift what would it be?

Like Cee, I would want lots of money too 🙂 I want lots of money or just enough money to start my own business so that I can help my hubby earn and save money for our kids future. Then I can also help my family and in-laws later on.

If you had a shelf for your three most special possessions (not including photos, people or animals) what would you put on it?

  1. cellphone
  2. laptop
  3. mementos from friends/family

Would you spend the weekend in an abandoned house in the forest?

No, I don’t think so unless my family is with me and we don’t have a choice but to stay there at that time.
