Symphony

Whenever I read an inspiring quote or poem or thoughts to ponder, I write it down. Below is such an inspiring piece and I can no longer remember where I saw or read it but I wrote it down 8 years ago.

To live content with small means;
To seek elegance rather than luxury;
And refinement rather than fashion;
To be worthy, not respectable;
And wealthy, not rich;
To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly;
To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages with open heart;
To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never;
In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common.
This is to be my symphony. – William Henry Channing

I felt inspired to write my symphony too. See below..

To be thankful everyday instead of complaining;
To be joyful and not sad;
To be understanding instead of arguing;
To be kind than rude;
To count my blessings than count the things that I don’t have;
To nurture my child with love and good values;
To be supportive and an encouraging wife;
To keep myself busy so that there’s no time for boredom;
To think positive and avoid negative thoughts;
To bear in mind that I can do all things thru God who strengthens me;
And to enjoy life no matter what.

What about you? What’s your symphony? I think that each of us has his/her own symphony to live by but basically we all want the same – to lead a good life . Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day everyone!
